A: Dumpster sizes are measured in cubic yards of capacity. One cubic yard is 3 feet long by 3 feet wide by 3 feet high. Q: What if I go over the weight allowance?
A: Bin There Dump That Southeast Louisiana applies weight limits to certain regions within St. Tammany and Tangipahoa Parishes due to rules applied by landfills applicable to the area. The weight allowance for this area is 5,000 lbs after which an additional fee of $65/ ton will be applied. Unless substantial amounts of concrete, dirt, brick, shingles or similar heavy material is placed in the bin it is our experience that 5,000 lbs is more than sufficient for most users. Outside of the St. Tammany and Tangipahoa areas no weight charges are applied. An additional factor is the maximum safe weight to place in the dumpster. Our maximum safe lift capacity is 5 tons. Overweight bins that we can't lift or are deemed unsafe to transport will be subject to additional fees and must be unloaded by the customer.
